JudyPie was created with a simple dream in mind. Judy wanted to share the same pies her mother, Rhoda baked for their family every Sunday while growing up in Waco, Texas
.
After 25 years as a middle school and Special Education teacher, Judy finally found the time to make her dream come true.
JudyPie opened its' doors in September 2016 and quickly earned the ranking as one of the best pie shops in the great state of Texas. Judy likes to think she earned that reputation, because of JudyPies's commitment to using the finest and freshest ingredients. And of course, her famous flaky pie crust had something to do with it too.
If you're a first-timer try Judy's personal favorite the Pecan Pie. Judy swears it's as good as if it was baked straight from the hands of Rhoda herself.

Grapevine’s JudyPie serves love, pies, and a mission for mental health

Inspired by childhood memories of baking with her mother in Waco, Balunda opened the shop in 2016 after retiring from a nearly 30-year career as a special education teacher. JudyPie serves a variety of fruit, sweet, and savory pies based on her mother’s recipes, along with other baked goods, including gluten-free and vegan options. The shop is known for its vintage charm and community spirit, and it was recently recognized as one of USA Today’s 10 Best Pie Shops in the U.S. Beyond baking, Balunda is a strong advocate for mental health, donating proceeds to MHMR and delivering pies and notes of encouragement to patients.

I used to travel a lot for work and made it a priority to find the best Key Lime pie in the USA. I thought I had found it in Birmingham, AL, until I tasted Judy's pie. I can honestly say Judy's Key Lime pie is the best of the best.

JudyPie Featured on WFAA
Following the massive rush on Thanksgiving, with over 1000 pre-orders, JudyPie was featured on WFAA! Lines were out the door, and Judy herself could not have been more grateful.

My go-to thing is Judy Pie,
So much better than “Lucy in the Sky”!
Don’t need nothin’ else to make me high,
With a “Lovin’ Spoonful” from JudyPie.
Makes me shout, makes me quiver,
Just to have even the smallest sliver.
So bring on the Puppy Chow or a creamy pie shake,
Gets my taste buds to jumpin’,
and my stomach to quake.
